My Mom

My Mom is amazing. She has been there for me through everything. She is also HIV positive and is the best role model. She has such a positive outlook on life and has taught me to take every day and live it to the fullest. She has raised my family and has never made me feel bad about having HIV. I hope that one day I can be just like her.

My Mom found out she was HIV positive when she had me. She didn’t have a lot of support from her family or my dad. My dad flipped out and couldn’t deal with the fact that he gave HIV to my mom. It’s been hard, but my mom is amazing! She loves me and has given me everything I need. Having HIV has never made her different from other moms. She’s come on class trips and cheered me on when I play soccer. She has taught me to be healthy in mind and body and that I am special and valued.
