How do I choose a doctor?
- Find a doctor who has experience
caring for people with HIV.
- Ask an HIV counselor, public health
nurse or friend who has HIV to recommend
a doctor with this experience.
- Bring along a trusted friend or
family member to your first visit
for support.
- Feel free to “interview”
your doctor and make sure s/he is
comfortable with your choices and
lifestyle. Remember, you have a
choice about who you see!
