HIV can make you lose muscle, protein
and fat because your body uses energy
much faster when it's fighting off
any kind of infection. If you lose
up to 5% of your normal body weight,
you should talk to your doctor to
stop any more serious HIV-related
weight loss. This is called wasting.
Even if you dont lose weight
but you notice your arms, legs, face
and butt seem thinner, you need to
work with your doctor to find out
the reason. If you are losing a lot
of weight, talk to your doctor about
it right away.
