What is co-infection?
A co-infection is another illness
you may get along with having HIV
or AIDS. People who don't have HIV
or AIDS can also get these illnesses.
Also, you can be co-infected with
two different strains of HIV.
If you have HIV/AIDS and another infection,
it's really important to see a doctor.
You might need special attention when
it comes to treating both infections.
Examples of coinfections:
- Sexually Transmitted Infections
(STIs)
- Hepatitis C (Hep C or HCV)
- Hepatitis B (Hep B)
- Tuberculosis (TB)
