Gonorrhea
What is gonorrhea? A bacterial
infection; also called 'the clap'
How do I get it? Vaginal, anal
or oral sex
Symptoms: The symptoms are often
worse for men than women. Men have
extreme pain when peeing and get a
discharge from their penis. Women
get some discharge. You can get a
sore throat from having oral sex ("going
down on") with someone who has
gonorrhea.
Prevention: Avoid having sex until
you are cured! Condoms & spermicides
reduce the risk, but not totally.
Treatment: Don't worry. This is
treatable. Your doctor will run some
tests and prescribe the correct drugs
for you to take to get rid of this
infection.
