Is there more than one HIV virus?

There are different kinds of HIV virus. This is why it is important to always have safer sex. When you are HIV positive you can give your sexual partners your type of HIV or you can get theirs. This is not good because your HIV meds may not work on the new HIV virus. So this could affect what HIV meds you can take and it may mean that you get sicker faster. Remember, always use a condom!
